Each year, the Faculty of Geosciences presents two teaching awards to educators who have exhibited exceptional or noteworthy accomplishments in education. This initiative is driven from the grassroots level, with nominees being proposed by their respective student associations.
Alissa, along with four other young educators from the Faculty of Geosciences, was recently nominated by their respective student associations for the 2025 Geo Teacher Talent of the Year Award. On Wednesday, December 11, 2024, she was selected as the recipient of this prestigious honor. This award acknowledges young teachers with less than five years of experience for their innovation and commitment to enhancing Geoscience education.
